South Bend native, Tom Nania, is a lifelong guitar player turned guitar maker. He dropped out of college after realizing he had more passion for playing guitar than the status quo. During this time Tom developed a deeper appreciation for sound and returned to school to study acoustic physics. It was also during this time that Tom walked into a local luthier’s workshop and stumbled upon a career he could pour his life into. Upon graduating from Indiana University South Bend, Tom attended the Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair and hasn’t looked back. Tom is an affiliated scholar in the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy at IUSB where he conducts acoustics research for instruments and builds guitars in South Bend with his wife, Becca, and dog, Lou as House of Luthiery. Tom writes original music with a slant toward Jazz and the fingerstyle acoustic genre and plays with his friends as the band AIRIAR.
